Letter, 1900 Sept. 26. Beech-Hurst, Andover.

Charles Alfred Swinburne informs his friend Vernon that his book has been published and has "drawn showers of letters" and public appreciation. Shortly after that event he was summoned to his elder brother's death bed. He urges Vernon to take good care of his liver illness, which is known to afflict lawyers because of their sedentary habits.
